Krotoa Eva Fairy-doll
KROTOA EVA was the first indigenous South African woman fluent is Dutch and Portuguese. She is a Colored skin South African Hanging Doll who represents the older Cape Colored ladies dressing up for a special occasion. She has hand stitched embroidered facial features on a brown velvet skin her dark hair is braided into a long plait hanging over the one shoulder. This is a typical hairstyle for the older colored women when attending something special.
Her Clothes are handmade with brown leather suede, rusty marabou feathers and bronze sequins.
Her arms & legs are decorated with glass and wooden beads.
